Acts 29 is designed to help middle school and high school teens to prepare themselves to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. It is our desire to prepare and assist them in every way we can as they prepare to take the next step to seek Christ and proclaim His Gospel.
God has special plans for each of us, and He desire you to become the best version of yourself as possible. We believe that there are five essential ingredients to a strong, healthy, and deep faith life. We call these five things Faith Catalyst, and they are:
1) Practical (Orthodox) Teaching.
2) Private and Communal Devotions (Prayer).
3) Personal Ministry (Service).
4) Providential Relationships.
5) Pivotal Circumstances.
Our Acts 29 Confirmation Preparation program is designed to help you take ownership of your own faith life by helping you to learn to incorporate these five faith catalysts into your everyday life.
As part of our Acts 29 program, we will be asking you to attend Sunday Mass each week, attend and participate in our high school youth group (Marvelous light) activities, and our parish covenant nights. In addition, those preparing for Confirmation will be asked to attend four Impact nights and two prayer services where they will be asked to make public commitments stating that they will and are taking their preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation seriously. Finally, we want those preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation also to experience the joy of serving others and thus we are asking all those preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation to perform 18 hours of service work.
As you prepare for Confirmation, we will expect you to attend Four Impact Nights. At these nights we will have a short talk on one of the four areas of the Catechism and check-in with one another. We see how our service hours are goings, who have you chosen to be your Confirmation Saint, and more.
Marvelous Light Youth Group is a part of our "Call to Greatness" Programming.
Covenant Nights are the keyways for teens to experience the "ABC" of Small Church community - Accountability, Belonging, and Care.
